Our Mission

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he responded by saying in short, Love God and Love People.  Jesus’ whole earthly teaching can be summed up in those few words. This is our heart at Beacons. The question naturally arises as to just how we are able to truly Love God and Love People? It’s simple, but not easy.

We believe Jesus answered this question when he sent out his disciples after He had risen from the dead. He commissioned them to go and make disciples of all people, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey everything He commands. At times, this mission has been made overly complicated, but we are a simple church and we love Jesus’ simple response and approach to ministry. These commands from Jesus were not complicated for His disciples, difficult at times, but simple. The reason being was the original disciples were connected to the vine (Jesus). They spent their days seeking God and longing to be more and more obedient. As their obedience grew, so did God’s Kingdom.

What we Believe

We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

Also we declare our belief in the traditional family as the basic unit of a Christian society and the primary means of conveying the Gospel from one generation to the next. Therefore, to advance our belief that the truth of the Bible is for all generations, Christian education is a high priority of the time and resources of this church and our activities include assisting parents in providing Christian, educational experiences for their children and helping families to fulfill their biblical duty to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4). For this reason we are pleased to be able to rent a portion of our facilities to a local public charter school.

Statement of Faith

We understand that all sincere disciples of Jesus are seeking truth in word and deed. Nevertheless, this is a lifetime endeavor for all of us, and sometimes people of good faith can sincerely disagree about what the Bible says and means.

To be specific about our convictions and our understanding of the Bible, we offer the following Statement of Faith, which adheres to the tenets of the Christian faith:

We Believe the Bible to be written without errors or mistakes by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; it is in all ways truthful and authoritative and is worthy to be called the Word of God.

We Believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We Believe that because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, eternal life and spiritual salvation is only possible by being born again by the Holy Spirit; and that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is the only grounds for our acceptance by God, and that we are saved only by God’s grace, through faith alone.

We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We Believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live victoriously in restored fellowship with God.

Also, we declare our belief in the traditional family as the basic unit of a Christian society and the primary means of conveying the Gospel from one generation to the next. Therefore to advance our belief that the truth of the Bible is for all generations, Christian education is a high priority of the time and resources of this church, and our activities include assisting parents in providing Christian educational experiences for their children and helping families to fulfill their biblical duty to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
